Citroën has unveiled the premium DS5 sport MPV just before its world debut at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show. The car follows a new line of DS models, including the DS3 and DS4. It’s based on the C-Sportlounge concept car we first saw in 2005 and represents all that is good and innovative about Citroën, in particular the new DS line of cars.
Five seats and four doors strong, the 4.5 metre DS5 is as long as a grand tourer, and carries similar amounts of luggage as a wagon. Powertrain will feature, among others, HYbrid4 diesel hybrid technology which delivers around 149kW of power and C02 emissions of 99 g/km. I’m personally most impressed with the lounge-like interior layout and design, something carried over from the original concept.
More info will follow after the Shanghai unveiling.
