The petrol version of the Toyota Etios has been launched last year. The car gave a very good response and people liked it very much. Recently Tata Etios Liva was also launched with only petrol version but it has not got the response similar to Tata Etios sedan. As the price of petrol has risen too much, Toyota India has planned to launch Toyota Etios diesel and Toyota Etios Liva diesel. Toyota Etios and Toyota Etios Liva will be powered by 1.4 litres D-4D engine which will produce the power of 68 BHP and will deliver a mileage which will be close to 22 kmpl.

Speculations say that mostly the hatchbacks are bought by people under the age of 25 to 35 years and Toyota Etios Liva is not appealing to the youth. Indian car market has a major growth of hatchbacks as compared to other segments. So the companies are now trying to manufacture and sell the hatchbacks. The launch date of the twins is 9th of September 2011. As per our sources, the looks and design of the diesel variants of Toyota Etios and Toyota Etios Liva is same as that of their petrol versions. Toyota India has much expectations from the twins as the Indian market is inclined to diesel models due to rise in the price of petrol. The sales of cars has been slowed down due to rise in the price of petrol. So the companies are trying to manufacture and sell the diesel cars.

However, Toyota Etios sedan had received an overwhelming response by the Indian consumers since the time of its launch. But didn't continue its run for long period of time because of some kind of quality and performance issue. Now the new Toyota Etios diesel will come with new engine which will deliver high performance. Its very hard to accept that Toyota is looking to reduce the power where all the other major players are fighting to offer more powers with their machines. In the list of top competitors Tata Indigo Manza holds the top position and is expected to give the new Toyota Etios diesel a good run for money. As Tata Indigo Manza is more spacious than Toyota Etios and come powered with a 90 Bhp Fiat multijet engine. Though the quality of Manza is not better than Etios but its quite comparable to it. Talking about the hatchbacks the Toyota Etios Liva diesel doesn't have any convincing advantage either. Most of the major players have designed their cars for the young generation of India whereas the Etiso Liva design doesn't turn the youth of India. Toyota must mulls on Yaris hatchback, before its too late.

Etios sedan and Etios Liva diesel variants to launch on September 9

A few months back, the Japanese auto biggie Toyota Motors has launched the petrol variant of its hatchback christened Toyota Etios Liva on 27th June. However, this new hatchback was unable to lure the customers and didn't get overwhelming response. The reason behind this would be the lack of its diesel variant in the market. As diesel cars are on high demand due to the hike in the petrol prices. So in order to cope up with the market Toyota Motors is on the toes to deliver the diesel variant of the Etios twins. As per the latest buzz in the Indian car market the Toyota Etios diesel and Toyota Etios Liva diesel will be rolled out on September 9.
