Mazda has introduced the new CX-5 compact SUV ahead of its Frankfurt show debut.
The CX-5 is based on the Minagi Concept unveiled in Geneva last March and is a shorter-wheelbase version of the CX-7. The car also features Mazda's new Kodu design language.
Mazda says the new CX-5 comes with its new SKYACTIV technology - meant to create more fuel-efficient vehicles. The CX-5 2.2 liter SKYACTIV-D 2WD MT will have CO2 emissions below 120 g/km.
The CX-5 will debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September and goes on sale in 2012.
